The Floor and the Height

The floor and the height are not rungs in a moral ladder. One is provision; the other is stewardship. One must protect life; the other entrusts particular work. The destination is a universal unconditional material floor. Providence does not yet possess the institution, funding, land, or productive capacity to promise it.

During the capacity-limited beginning, a consociation can guarantee the basics of life only to people who freely join and participate in sustaining it. Participation means returning through the moon cycles to one's values, intentions, desires, commitments, and desired impact, through the app or an accessible equivalent, under terms defined before entry and open to appeal. It does not mean spiritual conformity, initiation through the Doors, productivity, usefulness, or a biometric threshold. Administrators may not treat incapacity as withdrawal. A person may leave, but because withdrawal ends the guarantee, consent is real only if notice, transition, and routes into another life are designed before a crisis.

The height is different in kind. It is bounded stewardship: responsibility for land, resources, and coordination, entrusted for a time and answerable to the people it affects. Qualifications must be relevant to the work, public, contestable, and available through non-biometric routes. Reflections and experimental signals may contribute to a person's self-owned developmental record after validation and consent. Whether evidence drawn from biometric signals may enter any particular stewardship decision remains open. Until that question is resolved, a pilot must not use it to determine eligibility. No operator may infer another person's wellness without informed consent and an evidence standard established in advance. No institution may use a signal to measure human worth, decide who eats, change the weight of a vote, or create a superior political class.

Relational evidence may make a developmental history less dependent on self-report. It does not become an oracle. Physiological response can be noisy, context-bound, manipulated, or misread, and the presence one person evokes in another is not a validated unit of value. Designers reduce danger only by keeping every use voluntary, narrow, challengeable, and unable to govern provision or political standing. A body may offer evidence. It must never become proof of worth.

The floor belongs to the participating member before any measure. Stewardship is work entrusted for a time, answerable to those it touches. Neither a signal nor a role makes one person more human, more entitled to political voice, or more entitled to be fed.
